Italy’s Minister of Sport: “A restart date? The recent news of infected players doesn’t help”.

Italy’s Minister of Sport, Vincenzo Spadafora, Minister of Sports, was interviewed by Seilatv Bergamo and once again discussed the future of Serie A.

A decision has yet to be made on whether or not the 2019/2020 season will be completed or cancelled – though, many players have returned to their respective team training centers to resume individual training.

“The recent news that some football teams have infected players does not bode well. Since we don’t know what the evolution of this health crisis will be, we can’t give a certain answer,” he said.

“The key word, particularly after the recent meeting of the scientific committee to discuss health protocols, is ‘prudence’. Obviously what has happened in the last 24 hours certainly doesn’t help”.

”Next week before 18 May, we’ll know more based on the analysis of the contagion curve. The scientific committee will soon respond to the FIGC’s medical protocol”.
