Vincenzo Spadafora, Italy’s Minister of Sport, appeared on Rai Due and discussed the latest updates on the status of Serie A’s 2019/2020 seasonz
Spadafora spoke just minutes after it was announced that group training could resume for all clubs in Italy’s top flight.
“To me, it’s excellent news that group training can resume. On 28th May, I have called a meeting with (FIGC president) Gravina and (Lega Serie A president) Dal Pino,” he stated.
”I believe that by next Thursday we will have all the data to decide if and when the season can resume”.
Opinions about whether or not Serie A should resume have been split throughout the league.
Brescia president Massimo Cellino has been one of the most outspoken critics about the league’s resumption, while Lazio’s Claudio Lotito has insisted that the 2019/2020 campaign must be concluded.
