Italy’s Roberto Mancini criticises Zaniolo’s evolution: “He must hurry up.”

Andy Mattioli

Italy coach Roberto Mancini did not mince words when addressing Nicolò Zaniolo’s recent form and off-the-pitch antics including leading offensive chants against Lazio during Roma’s Conference League celebrations.

“He’s still just as talented as he was a few years ago,” Mancini told Il Giornale.

“He’s young, but he must hurry up because time is running. I understand he’s been out with injuries, but time moves fast even for him.”

Mancini also addressed Andrea Belotti’s free agency and the possibility of seeing him at Roma.

“If he were to sign with Roma he would be in a big club, but he has to play and be a starter.”
