Italy boss Roberto Mancini previewed the national team’s upcoming engagements for the Nations League in this season’s first international break. Among other things, the Italian technician addressed Leonardo Spinazzola’s surprise absence in the final call-up list.
“Spinazzola called me a few days ago and told he wasn’t at his best and needed time to train. He needs to work for two weeks to regain some of his energy,” Mancini explained.
Additionally, the ex-Man City boss shared an update on Lorenzo Pellegrini who joined Italy’s training group at Coverciano despite an injury suffered in last night’s loss to Atalanta. “We’ll evaluate Pellegrini’s condition between today and tomorrow.”
