Former Roma player Javier Pastore talked about his transfer to the Italian capital and the disappointing three-year spell with the Giallorossi in light of the expectations set for him in the summer of 2018.
“I would do it again,” he told Goal.com when asked whether moving to Roma from PSG was mistake.
“Rome is an extraordinary place to play football, not only for the team but also for the fans, it is unique. From a sporting perspective unfortunately, I wasn’t up to it, I had physical problems and the first year with Di Francesco was difficult, there wasn’t the feeling I would have liked with the coach at the time.”
“In between there was also a change of ownership. So many pieces that didn’t fall into place. But I don’t regret anything, I spent 3 years in a beautiful city with fans who treated me wonderfully. Even if on social networks it might seem the opposite, when I went around the city I always felt the affection and warmth of the people. I am disappointed with what I did because the fans deserved more.”
