Just days after resigning from his post at Roma, João Sacramento is nearing an agreement to become a head coach for the first time in his career.
Record reports that the 32 year-old is in line to become the new manager of Benfica B, the reserve team of the Portguese giants. Former Benfica B boss Nelson Verissimo took charge of the first team after Jorge Jesus was sacked by the club early last week.
Benfica B are back in action on 10 January 10 versus Porto B and the club is determined to have a deal finalised before then.
The two sides are still engaged in contract discussions, however, a deal is expected to be reached very soon.
