José Mourinho’s assistant manager, João Sacramento, took to his official Instagram page to bid farewell to the Italian capital and to the Special One after stepping down earlier today.
The 32 year-old confirmed that he has indeed decided to leave Roma after serving as Mourinho’s top assistant since 2019.
“The two-year cycle alongside Mister José Mourinho, which I am very proud of, has ended,” he wrote.
“Working with you was a dream come true. I will be eternally grateful, Mister! I wish you all the best.”
Roma have yet to officially announce the news or the motivations behind it, but it’s possible that Sacramento is eyeing the opportunity to be a head coach.
Several clubs, including Bordeaux, expressed interest in appointing him last summer, however, a deal was never completed.
