Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout echoed Paulo Fonseca’s belief before kick-off that their tie against Braga isn’t finished.

The Giallorossi lead the Portuguese side 2-0 entering the second leg affair this evening in the Italian capital. Veretout, though, was adamant that his side can not afford to be passive despite their two-goal advantage.

“We’re aware that this isn’t over yet,” Veretout said to Sky Sport.

“The Europa League is played over two legs, so tonight is important. We can’t come into this match thinking that we just have to manage our lead. Braga are very strong so we have to show our strength.”

The 27 year-old then asked about all of the minutes that he has played this season. He currently sits third in minutes played with 1,726 – trailing only Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Gianluca Mancini.

Despite the heavy workload, Veretout dismissed the idea that he requires a rest.

“We’re always ready to play and at the disposal of the manager. When a player is called-up he must be ready. I prefer to play.”
