With Roma’s preseason officially kicking off today, most first team players regrouped at Trigoria early this morning to undergo medical tests and their first training session of the new campaign.
Among those who stopped to sign autographs and greet the fans waiting outside of Roma’s training facilities, Jordan Veretout briefly addressed his future.
According to Voce Giallorossa, the Frenchman told the fans, “I feel ready for the new season.”
When asked whether he was going to stay at Roma or leave, the midfielder replied, “Sure, I’ll stay here.”
Veretout had been linked with an exit from the club since talks over a renewal broke down earlier in the year, and several teams including Olympique de Marseille and Newcastle United had come forward as potential suitors for the 29-year-old.
