Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout was interviewed by Ouest-France today and reflected on his four-year spell since moving to Serie A.
The Frenchman initially moved to Italy in 2017, joining Fiorentina from Aston Villa on a permanent transfer from €7 million. After two successful seasons in Tuscany, Veretout transferred to Roma in a big-money move that cost the capital club €18 million.
“I’ve improved a lot since moving to Italy, it’s a very demanding league,” explained the midfielder.
“I feel much more solid, my muscle mass has increased and feel much more mature respective to when I was playing in France. I would also say that I’ve improved tactically, I’m more disciplined.”
He continued, “Serie A is a very difficult league, several clubs have improved. Everyone who arrives here quickly realises how tough it is.”
“It’s never easy to play against team such as Sassuolo and Hellas Verona.”
