The agent of Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout, Mario Giuffredi, discussed the Frenchman’s recent run of form after he scored twice in yesterday’s victory against Udinese.
Veretout increased his league tally on the season to nine, but Giuffredi explained that his client has always been capable of finding the back of the net.
“Jordan has always scored goals, even in his first season at Fiorentina he scored eight,” he said to Radio Marte.
”He’s lethal when Fonseca puts him in a more advanced role. In fact, we made a bet, he told me that he wants to score between 15 and 18 goals in the league. He’s one of the most modern and complete international-level midfielders. He’s maturing and has a higher standard of himself in his performance.”
When asked about what Veretout’s future holds, Giuffredi revealed that he recently met with Roma executive Tiago Pinto after rumors emerged that the two sides opened talks regarding a contract renewal.
“I was in Rome last Tuesday to meet Pinto and we also spoke about Jordan. Napoli’s (Sporting Director) Giuntoli has been wanting to acquire him for two years, but the economic climate in the summer prevented it.”
