Jose Mourinho discussed some of his choices with regards to Roma’s starting line-up ahead of tomorrow night’s Europa League fixture.
In an interview with Sky Sport, Mourinho said, “We have to manage players with a more complex medical history, with players who suffer from playing too many games, I trust the players’ feedback and their sensations.”
“Lukaku says he needs to work and for him that means playing. We have to let him decide and he will be very happy to start tomorrow.”
“Without Llorente and Smalling we struggled to find a suitable alternative, and so we relied on Bryan Cristante who is playing as a centreback right now.”
“Last year we had two extra games because we finished second in the group. The first objective is to qualify, then finish first and avoid these two additional playoff games. Thinking about the final now is premature, now we’re just thinking match by match.”
