Jose Mourinho and Tiago Pinto await Roma owners to address future plans

Andy Mattioli

Roma are yet to address the future of head coach Jose Mourinho and General Manager Tiago Pinto.

As the Giallorossi have entered Mourinho’s third season, the Special One and Pinto are edging closer to the expiry date of their respective contracts.

Both individuals are awaiting a signal from Roma President Dan Friedkin to discuss future plans with the possibility of renewing, reports Il Tempo.

However, this will not be a simple matter as the Friedkins are determined to assess the team’s progress this season: the American owners expect the team to delivery better results, hopefully qualifying to the Champions League ahead of next season after securing the important signing of Romelu Lukaku in the summer.

Mourinho is said to be willing to wait until February for Roma to come meet him halfway. Pinto’s situation is not as urgent, claims the Italian newspaper.
