Jose Mourinho’s decision to remain at Roma until the end of his contract is directly linked with several specific requirements he presented the club’s board with.
According to La Repubblica, Mourinho rejected offers from abroad including ones for international duty in order to respect his current contract with the Giallorossi.
The Special One does not wish to undo what he started in 2021 alongside General Manager Tiago Pinto and the Friedkins.
However, the newspaper also claims that, in doing so, Mourinho has asked the club for more managerial power in terms of decision-making going forward while being aware of FFP limitations.
A meeting will soon be held between Roma’s owners and the Special One in order to clarify the club’s future plans.
