Jose Mourinho sounded satisfied of Roma’s winning effort at La Spezia thanks to two goals by Stephan El Shaarawy and Tammy Abraham.
The Special One applauded his men in a post-match interview with Roma TV and explained the importance of being able to prepare games in advance when playing once a week instead of every three days.
“The difference is playing once every week,” said the Portuguese technician. “You have 7 days to work on and prepare all the tactical details. There is no fatigue, the team functions properly.”
“I’m always happy with the team when we play once a week. After the winter break we were able to get off to a good start and collect the points we needed in order to improve our position in the league.”
“Tonight we scored two wonderful goals, and we did a fine job of managing the game afterwards.”
