Roma boss Jose Mourinho spoke to Roma TV at full-time at Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia right after his team beat Sassuolo 1-2.

The Portuguese manager released an exclusive interview in Italian to the capital club’s official channel.

“What a great game we played, even losing 1-0 was frustrating because the team played really well against an excellent team, who usually control all matches with great quality of possession.”

“We did it, we played very well, and the win belongs to the players and the fans who were here with us. They were extraordinary. I want to thank the owners and Tiago Pinto for the emotional support they gave me before the match, I needed it for my emotional balance heading into this game. I also want to dedicate it to a fantastic guy and a fantastic coach, Salvatore Foti. This win is for him.”

“Mentality? We work hard to have this attitude permanently and avoid playing with ups and downs. Today at half-time we were losing 1-0 and I was calm and satisfied with the way the lads played. If we lost today I’d have gone home frustrated, but not sad or angry. We were playing as a team from the first minute, even when losing 1-0.”
