Roma manager Jose Mourinho was included in the latest world ranking of football managers in FouFourTwo’s Top 50 list.
The Special One was ranked 35th behind the likes of Brazil’s Tite, Marcelo Gallardo and Luis Enrique.
FourFourTwo explained their decision: “He is forever; he is eternal. A five-time European winner, a star of Stormzy videos, a genius beyond space and time. Jose Mourinho has outgrown the cliches. He burns at the centre of Serie A and without him, football is a husk.
The game may have moved on tactically beyond the Cary Grant of the Eternal City – but it will never not have a place for him, as the Europa Conference League win proved last season. All he needs is a fierce striker, a little organisation at the back and a siege mentality in the dressing room – and the Special One will bring you a trophy, any trophy, even if it looks like a vase. Even if he doesn’t like anyone he’s working with.
Mourinho is flirting with Europa spots once more and unofficially halfway through his tenure. Will it end the same way? Probably. Does that make him any less of a coach? Absolutely not.”
Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti and Jurgen Klopp took the podium in FourFourTwo’s rankings.
