Roma boss Jose Mourinho reflected on the team’s performance in their narrow defeat to Juventus on Saturday night.

The Portuguese technician released an exclusive post-match interview to Roma TV at full-time at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

“Roma played well, tactically strong, creating difficulties for their opponent. We had scoring opportunities and a good gameplan. When you reach 0-0 at the end of the first half you go into halftime with the feeling that it can be won, but also that the match can be decided by episodes.”

“Juve’s goal was a strange one, after two rebounds – Juventus feel very comfortable in these situations. They set up a low block, we dominated, we made the possible changes, we had two shots on goal, Dybala’s and Cristante’s post, which could have had different outcome. But Juve are smart and experienced, they controlled the pace of the game and it ended in defeat. A defeat in the result but not in our way of playing.”

“I told the players to play to win, without any problem in playing high and pressing the opponent. We created difficulties for Juve with the positioning of Dybala and Bove, in the first half it was difficult for Gatti and Danilo to press them. We had the ball, we created a lot and made many crosses, considering that we were playing in Turin against Juve. We should have scored and we didn’t, we lost undeservedly so. The boys deserved more, the day after tomorrow is a new year and in a few days we have a new match and we will go with everything we have into it.”
