Roma manager Jose was full of praise for Tammy Abraham in last night’s win over Monza despite the English striker failed to get on the score sheet against the newly promoted Serie A side. The Portuguese technician congratulated himself with the ex-Chelsea attacker after being highly critical of him in Roma’s previous engagement with Juventus.

“Today it is too obvious and easy to talk about Paulo and what he is doing with us,” Mourinho said in his post-match presser. “It is too easy to talk about his history, his 100 goals in Serie A, it’s too easy to talk about him.”

“For me tonight is Tammy’s night, who played an extraordinary match without scoring. When I’m not happy with his game I say it, tonight I’m super happy. He won all the individual duels, he created a thousand problems for his opponents, even in terms of pressing and coverage.”

“Tonight he is my man, it would be too easy to talk about Paulo,” Mourinho added.

“I took Dybala off  because I saw him play with so much enthusiasm, it didn’t seem to me that he would be able to lower the level of intensity as the much went on and I thought that Sunday against Udinese will be very difficult. It was better to give him some rest. Same goes for Lorenzo, both are crucial for us.”
