Jose Mourinho took shots at Argentine attacker Papu Gomez who was recently banned for doping.
The Portuguese technician was asked about Gomez following Roma’s win over Monza – a match Gomez could not attend due to his ban after testing positive on a doping test in November 2022 – since the ex-Atalanta man had made some comments on the Special One in recent days.
Gomez had alluded to the fact that he did not know much about Mourinho beside the fact that he’d won the Europa League against him with Sevilla.
In his post-match presser, Mourinho made it a point to specifically address a question regarding Gomez’s ban.
“Gomez did not play in the Europa League final. I think he did play against Juventus before testing positive on the anti-doping test. But I wouldn’t want to take the same cough syrup as him, otherwise I could get into trouble.”
