Roma defender Juan Jesus was interviewed today by Sky Sport. Here are his words:

Where do you need to improve?
I think we’ve got improve and keep our shape by leaving less space, we were stretched out against Inter and they took advantage

The biggest traps that Samp presents?
It is always difficult to play there. Now they have Zapata, who is a physically strong attacker, then there are Quagliarella and Caprari, who know how to make theit moves, so we have to be careful about these guys and their whole team. Barreto, too. The Marassi is always difficult, we have to be focused for 90 minutes because it will be hard.

What changes in defensive movements were made compared to last season?
We are closer to the midfielders and also give a hand to the attackers, to press and steal the ball immediately. We have more pitch to cover, but with Manolas, who is fast, we can cover it very well.

Is being a starter a personal goal?
I have always shown my worth. Even when I was at Inter, the newspapers would predict the formations in the summer and I was always on the bench, but then at the start of the season, I was always in. I’m fine, I’m always focused on the pitch, I’ve always demonstrated my value and this season I have to prove this and improve because I’m still young, it seems like I’m 32 but I am still only 26 years old. It will be an important season for me and for Roma.
