Former Roma centreback Juan Jesus put in an impressive shift in tonight’s win over Jose Mourinho’s team. The Brazilian defender – who has been representing Napoli’s colours for the past year and a half – spoke about winning against his former side in a post match interview with Sky Sport.
“Tonight wasn’t revenge for me,” said Jesus. “I’ve always had a good relationship with Roma, I have a special bond with the city and the club. I have always respected it the same way I respect Inter.”
“I had a difficult time during my last two years at Roma, and now I defend the colors of Napoli and I am happy.”
“My time at Roma came to an end because of one person, and not because of Roma. Today I proved that I am still alive, unlike what some people said.”
“In football there are no longer starters and bench players. Everyone commits to the cause. The team is doing a great job together with the coach and we have to congratulate everyone on tonight’s victory,” he concluded.
