Juan Jesus reminisces about Roma’s 2018 Champions League run

As Napoli continue to build on their impressive win over Liverpool in this year’s Champions League, Partenopei defender Juan Jesus was asked about the lessons he learned from his experience with Roma back in 2018 when the Giallorossi went on a historic run, reaching the CL semifinal.

“The most important thing about those games is to always aim for a result. Always aim to win,” he told reporters after Napoli got a last minute victory against Spezia.

“You cannot afford to make mistakes in the Champions League,” Jesus continued. “I can say this based on my experience with Roma in 2018 that it’s crucial to win away games. By doing so, we managed to advance to the Champions League semifinal.”

“The more points you collect, the better and easier it is in the end,” he concluded.
