Juan Jesus appeared this morning on Roma Radio and discussed the Giallorossi’s pre-season and how the team is doing under Paulo Fonseca. These are his words:
Your feelings on the ritiro?
It’s a new group, we’ve changed a lot. Those who arrived did so with the right desire and this is important. The manager is doing his best and explaining the tactics and how we should play. Even though we haven’t been together long, we’re starting to see how we’ll need to play when the season begins.
There is so much positivity.
Of course, the group is new and young, with lots of young players who want to learn and want to do something more. We are a calm group and this is fundamental for working well and doing what we like, which is playing football.
Which of your teammates has made an impression on you?
I believe there is a good group here. Cristante always trains hard and commits himself. Diawara, who recently arrived, has an incredible technical ability. They are players who can help Roma a lot. Perotti has returned and looked very good and there’s Fazio, Mancini, I could say everyone.
How’s the manager?
Luckily, I was able to understand everything he was saying right away. He is a very serious guy, he knows what we have to do. We’re enjoying this, if we play the way he wants it will be difficult for the other teams to take us by surprise. The team is following him and this is important.
The Serie A fixtures were released yesterday.
It’s a good calendar for us. I think we have a chance to do something really nice. We need to win as many games as possible. I like that the Derby is the second match day.
