Justin Kluivert’s transfer to Fulham is off after the two clubs reached an agreement for a permanent deal earlier on Tuesday afternoon.

Only a day away from the transfer deadline, the Dutch attacker remains without a clear destination as he continues to be excluded from Roma’s plans.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, bureaucratic matters have gotten in the way of a successful transfer. Kluivert’s work permit was denied as the ex-Ajax does not meet the necessary criteria for it.

Sources inside Fulham claim that, as a result, Kluivert’s permanent transfer is off. Earlier reports suggested the player would join on loan with an easily attainable obligation to buy for €9.5 million.

With the transfer deadline set for tomorrow evening, it remains to be seen whether the capital club will be able to find a suitable solution for the 23-year-old whose contract was recently automatically extended to facilitate an eventual loan move.
