Juventus manager, Andrea Pirlo, spoke at his pre-match conference today on the eve of his side’s showdown in the Italian capital against Roma.
“We had a good week of work, better than the previous one,” began Pirlo. “We are increasing the intensity and the guys are working well”.
The Italian tactician was then asked a few transfer market-related questions, including about the negotiations that fell through for Roma striker EDIN Dzeko.
”We were waiting for a center forward, and he arrived this week. We had very little time to work with him, but I’ve always thought about how I can put the players in their best conditions”.
“We know Morata well. He wasn’t our third choice, he’s a guy who fits the characteristics that we were looking for”.
“Dzeko? He can be a huge threat. He is a great player — he could have become a Juve striker but the negotiations did not go through,” concluded Pirlo.
The sides face-off tomorrow at the Stadio Olimpico at 20.45 CET.
