Italy’s highest sporting court, The Italian Olympic Committee’s (CONI) Collegio di Garanzia, announced it has decided to temporarily overturn the January decision of the Italian FA (FIGC) to deduct 15-points from the Bianconeri for various financial violations related to capital gains on several transfer deals.
The Committee ruled an appeals court must hear the case before a final punishment is levied against the Turin-giants—meaning the club is now third in Serie A with the points temporarily restored.
An appeal is expected to take place within the next 30-45 days but the decision has dropped Roma to fourth in the table with 56 points, three behind Max Allegri’s men.
