Juventus inquire about Chris Smalling

Andy Mattioli

Juventus are reportedly monitoring Roma defender Chris Smalling ahead of his free agency in the summer.

The Englishman’s contract with Roma is bound to expire in June unless he chooses to extend his stay after collecting 50% of his season appearances.

According to Tuttosport, the Bianconceri have contacted Smalling’s agent, James Featherstone, and inquired about the defender’s intentions ahead of his potential free agency in the summer.

Despite these rumours, Roma seem willing to convince Smalling to extend his stay in the capital, with earlier reports claiming General Manager Tiago Pinto was ready to offer the ex-Man United man a two-year contract.
