In a night that saw Juventus win 3-0 over Sassuolo in their first official outing this season, Angel Di Maria was forced off the pitch after suffering a muscle injury in the second half of the match.
According to Italian journalist Romeo Agresti, Di Maria sustained an injury to his left abductor muscle.
The player is expected to undergo further tests later today which will determine a timeline of recovery.
Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri addressed Di Maria’s condition in last night’s post-match interview with DAZN. “I’m not worried about him,” he said.
“He had the same issue with the abductor muscle a week ago. Tomorrow we’ll see what the results say.”
Therefore, the player remains doubtful for the upcoming showdown with Roma on August 27th.
