Juventus attacker Arkadiusz Milik admitted he previously had the chance to join Roma before joining Marseille in January 2021.
The Poland international nearly joined the Giallorossi in the summer of 2020, even undergoing a medical with the club. However, Roma and Napoli failed to reach an agreement on a transfer fee for the ex-Ajax man, who eventually moved to Marseille before joining Juventus last month.
“I was close to joining Juventus in the past,” he told Polish outlet Meczyki. “However, it’s also necessary for both clubs to reach an agreement.”
“They couldn’t reach a deal at the time so I didn’t end up joining. Then there was also a chance to go to Roma, who offered more money, but Napoli rejected the proposal.”
“It was their (Napoli’s) decision and I respected it. Though, I’m glad the chance to join Juve cropped up again and everything went through well. It’s an honor to play for such a great club.”
