Kalinić turns down Newcastle United

Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi insisted yesterday in an interview that Nikola Kalinić is not for sale despite the whispers that the Croatian could leave the club in January.

Despite Petrachi’s words, though, rumors continue to emerge that Kalinić could depart the Italian capital this month. Tuttomercatoweb reports that the striker continues to draw interest both in Italy and abroad — even recently turning down the chance to join Newcastle United. Kalinić has already rejected approaches from Genoa and Verona as it remains to be seen what his future holds.

The ex-Fiorentina man has struggled since joining Roma and if the chance to upgrade the role of “vice-Dzeko” arrives, the Giallorossi will do all they can to make it happen.
