Former Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge went into detail about Roma’s recent trajectory with the new ownership and Mourinho at the helm.

“Roma have been reborn as an important club,” the German director told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“For a long time they failed to win anything, then thanks to Mourinho they succeeded.”

“It wasn’t the Champions League. It was the least important trophy, but he won it,” added Rummenigge.

“Mourinho had done well in the past, he is a man of great reputation, and it seems to me he’s in it also for the future, given the important signings made in this window.”

“In Rome they dream of something greater than the Conference League, but I don’t think they can win the league yet.“
