Rick Karsdorp officially marked his return at Roma this evening after having spent last season on loan at Feyenoord.

The Dutchman was deployed as the right wingback in Paulo Fonseca’s 3-4-2-1 formation this evening against Hellas Verona in Veneto.

Karsdorp, though, was forced to abandon the match after 72 minutes after it appeared he suffered an injury to his hamstring.

The defender came up hobbling after making and asked Fonseca to be substituted.

However, post-match examinations on Karsdorp revealed no damage or strain to the player’s muscle: he only suffered cramps and is not expected to miss any time.

The Giallorossi were granted a day off tomorrow and will resume training on Monday.
