Roma is monitoring the profiles of muscular midfielders with excellent tactical reading who could also bring some experience to a team making its Champions League debut.
There will be many debutants, most notably Gianluca Mancini, the leader of the group but making his footballing debut with the Champions League.
That’s why the Giallorossi have been offered Kessie in midfield.
The midfielder is playing in the World Cup with the Ivory Coast and, given his characteristics, could be the right player. Roma, however, disagrees.
Kessie already knows Gian Piero Gasperini and Serie A, but he’s not a priority for Roma.
As reported by Corriere della Sera, the Ivorian midfielder was offered to the Giallorossi, who declined.
Several intermediaries attempted to arrange a transfer involving the former AC Milan player, but the Roman club’s response was firm: he’s not an attractive prospect. Another midfielder linked to Roma is Freluer who is also not considered a priority.
