Austrian defender Kevin Danso sounded off on his collapsed move to Roma.

In his first interview since the failed medical in August, Danso spoke in detail about the eventful weeks that followed a worrying diagnosis of an irregular heartbeat.

Speaking to L’Equipe, Danso said, “The failed move hurt me a lot.”

”Going to Roma and not signing can happen to many players. That’s why I always say I’m not unhappy. But was I angry? Obviously yes.”

“I had never heard such an explanation. After passing all kinds of medical exams in England, I was told that in Italy they were much stricter on that type of analysis but I knew that on a physical level I was fine.”

“Maybe my transfer to Roma collapsed for another reason. I had to do numerous tests to find out that I could finally play, also because the situation had become very complicated.”
