Kortrijk’s sporting director: “Initially we wanted Reynolds until 2023.”

Kortrijk’s sporting director, Matthias Leterme, spoke about the deal involving Roma full-back Bryan Reynolds to Radio Djamel.

The director clarified the Belgian side’s initial motivation to pursue a loan deal for Reynolds until 2023, which eventually ended up being only a six-month loan until June.

“Together with Roma, we tried to sign him on loan for a year and a half, but for economic reasons it was not possible,” said Leterme.

“We then opted for a deal that would keep him here with us for half a season, which to us still seemed like a rather interesting option.”

Reynolds signed with Kortrijk earlier in January until June later this year. Once the loan comes to an end, the young full-back is expected to make a return to the capital.
