Kumbulla admits feeling more confident after Coppa Italia won

Marash Kumbulla of AS Roma celebrates after scoring

Roma defender Marash Kumbulla continued his renaissance season after another solid performance this evening against Lecce.

The Albanian international had a goal to go alongside a stout defensively display and helped Roma progress to the quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia.

It’s yet another sign of growth for the young Kumbulla, who admittedly struggled during the early part of the season.

“We got our attitude wrong at the start, thankfully we found an equaliser then raised the pace,” he told Roma TV.

“We showed a different attitude in the second half after the substitutions and we managed to score twice and secure a win.”

“My performance? I’m feeling much better on the pitch. I feel confident and have the manager’s confidence along with the trust of my teammates.”

Finally, “This helps players a lot. I played well tonight and I’m happy that I managed to help my team.”
