Kumbulla: “We must get back on track against Cagliari immediately.”

Roma defender Marash Kumbulla urged his side to immediately move past yesterday’s loss against Atalanta and focus on winning against Cagliari midweek.

The Albanian international admitted that the Giallorossi did not perform well yesterday against La Dea, however, he stressed that they can’t allow yesterday’s result to influence their fixture on Wednesday.

“We will discuss what happened yesterday with the manager. In the second half, we dropped off and struggled against a strong team,” the defender said to TeleReadioStereo.

“However we have to get back on track immediately, otherwise we’ll never improve. We can’t repeat the same mistakes that we made yesterday.”

“We have to prove that we don’t always struggle when the bar is raised. Look at how we did against Juve and Milan — we showed that we can play with anyone, even if it’s a draw. Yesterday went really, really badly but we will make up for it.”

The youngster then discussed how he has adapted to the Italian capital following his transfer to the Giallorossi from Hellas Verona.

“I’ve learned a lot and I feel much improved,” he admitted.

“I chose Roma because of the manager, the supporter, and the plan the club has. I haven’t felt the pressure of the city since I stay at home a lot.”
