Roma defender Marash Kumbulla was interviewed today by Sky Sport ahead of this weekend’s league clash against Benevento.

The young defender spoke today following the international break as the Giallorossi prepare to host Pippo Inzaghi’s side on Sunday.

“There’s a lot of harmony in the team, we like to laugh and joke around but we’re always focused on our work,” said Kumbulla.

“We’ve got a very tight-knight group and a great team spirit here. The Friedkin’s? They’re constantly around here, we see them almost every day.”

“They’ve made an extremely good impression on me,” he revealed.

The Albanian international has impressed since joining Roma nearly one month ago after putting in strong shifts against both Juventus and Udinese.

“Our goal is to always give our best on the pitch, we shouldn’t limit ourselves. Let’s do our best and see how far we can go.”

He continued, “Dzeko? He’s difficult to mark but training with him will help me improve. He always trains at the max and is a great example for all of us, he’s our captain. I’m sure he’ll do well on Sunday and in the subsequent fixtures.”

Finally, the youngster was asked about two of his more experienced teammates, Chris Smalling and Pedro, both of whom joined the Giallorossi on permanent deals this summer.

“These two give us an extra boost, they have incredible experience. We will be able to do well by following their lead,” concluded Kumbulla.
