Lazio director Igli Tare attended an event at the prestigious LOUISS university in Rome. Tare used this opportunity to speak out against city rivals Roma and the Conference League.
“Football nowadays is made of fake competitions like the Conference League: a competition for losers like Roma, or the Europa League which have no real value for the kind of revenue they generate,” he told the students in attendance.
“We don’t have enough time to prepare from game to game. The whole thing is inhuman. Football is headed in the wrong direction,” he continued.
“Today we have top clubs like Juventus, Milan, Inter and Roma who should have gone out of business a long time ago but are kept alive by a system which continues to need them.”
“It is very important for clubs to have long-term projects and a solid management to guide them.”
