Lazio sporting director Igli Tare found himself at the center of attention – after having snubbed the Conference League as the “competition for losers” – following the Bianconcelesti’s loss with Feyenoord which resulted in them dropping to the Conference League.
The Albanian director released a statement in a new interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It would be ideal for Lazio to always play in the highest European competitions,” he told the Italian newspaper. “However, now that we’re in the Conference League I want Lazio to honor this competition all the way until the end.”
“We must do everything it takes to win this competition. A trophy is always important and lasts for all eternity.”
