Roma’s main city rivals Lazio have reportedly entered the race for midfielder Marcel Sabitzer.
The Austrian international has been a target for Jose Mourinho’s Roma for the past few weeks as the ideal reinforcement for next season.
However, the deal has proven more complicated than Roma initially expected as the capital club have failed to convince Bayern Munich to let Sabitzer leave on loan.
On the other hand, Lazio seem to have grown interested in Sabitzer.
According to Il Messaggero, the Biancocelesti are trying to sign Napoli’s Piotr Zelinski.
In case the deal were to collapse, Lazio would be ready to make a €15 million proposal for Sabitzer as the first choice alternative to Zielinski.
