Lazio sporting director Igli Tare was interviewed before the Derby della Capitale kicks-off this evening between the Biancocelesti and Roma.

Entering on the heels of their elimination at the hands of AZ Alkmaar in the Conference League, Tare was insistent the team must get back on track immediately.

“There weren’t any issues between myself and the club after the AZ loss despite some of the things that were written,” he told Sky Sport.

“It’s essential all of us are focused in the same direction. So far I’d say our season is satisfactory especially in we finish in a Champions League place.”

He continued, “Tonight’s match is crucial for us to win and we need to do so. Is Lazio equipped for two competitions? I think some of what Sarri said was misinterpreted.”

“If you look at how we exited the Europa League it was surreal. Meanwhile the Conference League ate up a ton of energy. Our main objective is finishing fourth.”
