Lazio President Claudio Lotito reaffirmed his side’s support for Rome’s candidacy for Expo 2030.
In light of Roma’s recent decision to sign a sponsorship agreement with Riyadh Season – a competitor for the world’s fair – Lotito expressed his support the Italian capital’s cause.
“Sport must certainly pay attention to the problems of the territory in which it is practiced,” said the Italian senator as reported by Corriere dello Sport. “We want to testify to this.”
“We are the first team of the capital and it is right that we defend the interests of our territory and of Italy more generally. It is a duty and must be a pleasure on our part,” he added.
