Lazio were quick to respond to Roma’s recent sponsorship agreement with Riyadh Season.
The agreement caused quite an uproar in the local political landscape as Riyadh are direct competitors with Rome for the world fair Expo 2030.
Following ex-Mayor Viriginia Raggi’s criticism and her suggestion that both Roma and Lazio publicly support the city’s candidacy for Expo 2030, the Biancocelesti immediately responded with a message on their official website.
“Being the first team of the capital, Lazio has always demonstrated its action aimed at protecting the value aspect of sport in its entirety and the interests of the city of Rome.. Thus, it will implement every possible initiative to support the city of Rome’s candidacy to host an international event as important as Expo 2030, to allow the Italian capital, its inhabitants and the entire country to take advantage of the benefits of an economic and social nature that will derive from it in the present and in the future.”
