Lazio striker and team captain Ciro Immobile spoke ahead of the Derby della Capitale with Roma.

In an interview with Lazio TV, Immobile reflected on the importance of the derby and his favorite goals scored since joining Lazio in 2016.

“The derby is always an exciting match, more than the others I have experienced in my career. It’s something that goes beyond football, even in terms of entertainment in the stands.”

“The wait makes it special: the city freezes, everyone starts talking about it many weeks before,” he said.

“Tuesday’s victory gave us confidence ahead of the derby. I hope it left us with all that strength and energy that we will need in view of the derby.”

“Obviously all the goals scored in derbies are always beautiful. Then there are the heavier goals, the ones that helped us bring home unforgettable victories. The goals I remember with most pleasure are the two scored, between the first and second legs, in the semi-final of the Coppa Italia in 2017, when we reached the final and a few months later we won the Italian Super Cup against Juventus.”
