Lazio striker Ciro Immobile spoke with anticipation ahead of next month’s Derby della Capitale.
Immobile – who was recently injured and failed to earn a call-up with Italy – discussed the emotions and tension leading up to the Rome derby.
“I have never said a word out of place in any of the derbies that I played,” Immobile told Il Messaggero.
“And so Roma fans – when they meet me on the street – they tell me “We have never seen you provoking us” and for this they respect me.”
“Here, the derby is a unique game, there is nothing similar around the world. In the capital it can shift mental balance for months, even in your daily life. The rivalry is beyond all thought.”
