Lazio’s Claudio Lotito can’t believe Roma “got rid of Pedro”

Andy Mattioli

Lazio president Claudio Lotito questioned Roma’s motivations regarding the departure of Pedro and his switch from the Giallorossi to their city rivals in the summer of 2021, a few weeks after Jose Mourinho’s appointment as Roma manager.

Upon Mourinho’s arrival in the capital, the Spanish winger was excluded from first team training and his entourage told to find him a new team. The two clubs agreed to a free transfer for the ex-Barca man.

In an interview with Il Messaggero, Lotito said incredulously, “I don’t understand why Roma decided to offload Pedro.”

“He’s a monster, a real champion,” Lotito concluded.
