Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri discussed his team’s ambitions as they head into a heated battle for a Champions League place finish.

In his recent press conference, Sarri revealed that he motivates his men by instilling in them the need to be better than Roma.

“I tell the team, we want to be the best team in Rome and one of the strongest in Italy,” he told reporters on Saturday.

“We are going through an odd league campaign. It seems like everyone’s losing to everyone else. That is why after winning important matches like the Derby we cannot allow ourselves to drop against smaller teams.”
