Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes proved crucial in last night’s win over Sassuolo as he drew the foul that caused the Neroverdi to earn a red card.
The Argentine international discussed in his post-match reaction with Roma TV the team’s need to continue to improve and the significance of improving their record when playing away from Stadio Olimpico.
“It seemed we had the game in hand, and that we controlled the tempo of the game, unfortunately we conceded a goal that we didn’t expect. But we had a nice reaction afterwards,” said Paredes.
“We wanted to give our response, not only for what the coach said about us in the aftermath of the match with Servette, but also for ourselves, to try to win away from home. A victory awaited us after so many games without winning away from home. We really needed this.”
“It’s very important for us to continue like this, to continue to improve and I think we still have a lot to improve. The most important thing was to win and today we did that.”
